What is Deepvision? A good question, often asked frequently, but never answered completely. We believe that answering that question sets a definition, and once you define something you're limited to that. If you don't like that answer, here's one for the road. We are a team of individuals that encompass many different elements of youth culture, whether it be music, import scene, cars, HipHop culture, fashion, gaming, movies, design, etc. We began in 1998 not as a website but just a group of friends that celebrated a love for HipHop culture and the Import Scene (Tuner). In collaboration with the owners of Ehjays, started a night called Turntablist Lounge with J-Storm and SPS on the mainstage enlightening the crowd with their the music. The music was commercially labeled Turntablism, you know...those "scratch DJs" Ahhh.....Yes!!! We're very thankful for the owners Eric and John for supporting us, nevertheless...Central Florida was not really into it, someone once said "it's too underground, people want something more mainstream." So we eventually stopped and went on hiatus. After a few months we realized that our temporary website, which was used to promote our events, had many frequent visitors. We then focused on putting together a website that would serve as an information hub for upcoming events and pictures from past events we attended.
Our name: Deepvision - how was that derived?
Since we were known for being too underground, it represented our VISION, not that it's DEEP, but more like "seeing beyond the surface" and "seeing from below the surface"
This is why the submarine is our logo, we figured a whale or some sea creature would be too weird.
A submarine will explore the depths of the sea for a period of time and resurfaces to share its discovery.
In 2000, mid October we officially launched Deepvision.net to share our discovery.
Today, we're evolving with the scene and it's changing faster than we expected.
Our goal is to Create - Maintain - Elevate.
